You will find that opening a tail gate all the way is just not possible with a hitch mounted bike carrier on a pickup truck. Since the tail gate extends so fat beyond the bumper when opened it would require a bike carrier to almost lay flat.
Using any adapter or extension in your trailer hitch will reduce the capacity of the trailer hitch by 50 percent.
An adapter like part # 80300 would extend the hitch and possibly give you the clearance you need for your Kuat bike carrier. This extension... view full answer...
The 1-1/4 inch part of the shank on Curt bike rack # C18030 is steel. The sleeve to adapt the rack to fit a 2 inch hitch is plastic. The other option would be to use a steel reducer sleeve in a 2 inch hitch, # HT02, and then not use the plastic adapter. view full answer...

You should have no problem using the Convert-A-Ball Gooseneck Coupler Adapter, # CAB-C5G, on a 1,200 mile trip as long as the gross weight of your trailer remains under 20,000 lbs and the pin weight is under 4,000 lbs. We had one customer comment that he has been using his adapter for over 20,000 miles and it is still working great.
The only note I would add to this adapter is that there will be a noticeable difference in the ride quality if you are used to towing with a fifth wheel hitch.... view full answer...

If you got something like this Adapter 7 Pole to 4 Pole with Tester # 47345 you will be able to convert your 7 pole to the 4 pole you need to power your light # CR-007G, you can also test to see if everything is working. If everything is, I think you may have an issue with your wiring with your factory 4 pole. You may also want to check your fuse box for a blown fuse. Also try to check your factory wire connection under your truck bed. view full answer...
